Assistant Director, Patriot Club

The George Mason University, Intercollegiate Athletic Department, a NCAA Division I institution and member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, is seeking qualified applicants for the Assistant Director, Patriot Club position.

About the Position:


Reporting to the Patriot Club Director / Director of Athletics Annual Fund, the Assistant Director, Patriot Club facilitates and supports former student-athletes, Patriot Club members, and fans toward greater engagement through the Patriot Club.

Responsibilities:



Patriot Club / Intercollegiate Athletics Events

  • Responsible for planning and executing Patriot Club membership engagement events and other student-athlete alumni engagement opportunities occurring during other ICA events, many of which occur on weekends and evenings;
  • Serve as an ambassador at all men's and women's home basketball games, and at other ICA events;
  • Provide support and fulfillment for Patriot Club members, season ticketholders, and general fans; and
  • Responsible for the coordination and oversight of hospitality logistics, presentation, operation, and staff for Patriot Club hospitality rooms at home men's and women's basketball games and during other ICA events as needed.



Patriot Club Operations

  • Provide support for the day-to-day operations of the Patriot Club to include membership drives, season ticket sales efforts, and other outreach initiatives, and general administrative oversight functions such as donor record keeping, gift processing, event and hospitality planning; and
  • With a focus on alumni student athletes, provide support to the Patriot Club Director with the solicitation of Patriot Club membership and annual gifts.


Communications and Engagement

  • Maintain and build a supportive and effective relationship with the Patriot Club;
  • Work collaboratively with coaching staff to Identify opportunities and develop short and long term student athlete alumni engagement strategies; and
  • Engage and cultivate annual members encouraging future participation.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and work experience;
  • Strong and collegial interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and by phone;
  • Ability to positively engage and build relationships with a diverse constituency including alumni athletes, current student athletes, administrators, coaches, faculty, parents, and outside donors and contacts;
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to represent the department and institution well;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office and ability to quickly learn software programs; and
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intercollegiate athletics or professional sports background preferred.
