Job Announcement

Supports individuals with a primary intellectual/developmental disability diagnosis and other co-occurring disorders in a manner consistent with the philosophy of Assisted Community Residential Services. Responsible for the overall operation of assigned program sites and operates the program within current budgetary and regulatory guidelines. Ensures that staff schedules will contain appropriate supervision levels as defined in the person-centered plans and reflect the best interest of the people receiving support. Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and supports the development of Person-Centered Individual Service Plans (ISPs). Ensures direct assistance is provided by each staff person to enable individuals to perform activities of daily living as independently as possible, enhance communication, behavioral support and safety skills. Develops adequate staffing ratios to be met at all times. Ensures training records of staff and clinical records for individuals are current and meet all regulatory guidelines. Participates in the on-call rotation as part of the management team to ensure quality assurance of 24/7 operations.

For CSB Residential Services:
Participates in recruitment, training, orientation and evaluation of residential staff and/or home care providers;
Monitors security of drug inventories and use by clients;
Cooperates with building inspections and coordinates maintenance activities;
Prepares monthly house account reports and monitors house expenditures.
Coordinates, implements, and monitors delivery of individual service plan;
Analyzes data to determine client progress and makes necessary changes to service plan;
Writes individual service plans, progress notes, and summaries;
Ensures proper adherence to federal, state, local, and agency regulations and licensure standards;
Links clients with appropriate community resources;
Provides crisis intervention;
Advocates for clients in the community;
Organizes and maintains consumer files and other confidential records;
Prepares administrative reports;
Represents program within the community;
Develops cooperative relationships with community groups and agencies;
Develops, provides, and coordinates relevant training for agency staff and vendors;
Maintains ongoing communication with families, landlords, county programs and agencies, and state agencies.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of intake procedures, social history development and interviewing techniques;
  • Knowledge of psychiatric, psychological, and/or sociological terminology and concepts;
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and techniques related to treatment of persons with intellectual disability or other development disabilities;
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as issues relevant to human rights, mandated reporting, and skill in applying this knowledge to a variety of situations;
  • Considerable knowledge of community resources, including relevant public and private organizations;
  • Ability to recognize external behavioral symptoms of developmentally disabled individuals who may concurrently exhibit signs of medical needs, mental illness, and/or substance abuse;
  • Ability to successfully perform as a team member/leader;

  • Ability to establish rapport and maintain effective relationships with clients;
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, co-workers public and private sector organizations, community groups and the general public;

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related human services field; plus two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or bachelor’s degree and a valid Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional (QDDP) certification plus two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Master's degree can be substituted for 1 year of experience.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
  • Valid motor vehicle driver's license with fewer than six demerit points (or equivalent in another state) maintained throughout employment with CSB.
  • MANDT Certifications required within 3 months and annually thereafter;
  • First Aid and CPR certification required within 3 months and maintained throughout CSB employment;
  • Medication Administration Assistance Certification required within 3 months.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services Registry check, a driving record check, and sanction screening to the satisfaction of the employer. A TB screening upon hire and annually thereafter. Requires a National Provider Identifier.

This position is emergency/essential services personnel. (Required to report for duty during inclement weather and/or other emergencies.)

All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. New employees who obtain an exemption from the vaccine mandate for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs will still be subject to the weekly testing requirement. Vaccinated employees and employees with a medical or religious exemption will complete the attestation online on their first day of employment or shortly thereafter.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current completion of the DBHDS Supervisor Orientation
  • Clinical experience working in a behavioral health setting
  • Experience working with intellectual/developmental disabilities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to transport oneself, individuals, and program supplies as necessary. Ability to travel to assigned locations, stand, stoop, bend, reach, pull, push, lift, grasp, climb, talk, see, hear and perform basic and light home maintenance activities, and operate office equipment. Ability to move and lift light objects up to 30 pounds such as mail, supplies, files, and equipment. Operate office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements. Ability to remain in a sitting position for extended periods of time. Ability to physically assist individuals who are non-ambulatory or have other mobility and sensory challenges as needed (e.g. transfer and positioning). Ability to perform MANDT techniques as needed. Ability to use keyboard driven equipment such as scanners, faxes and computers. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
