WC Smith has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Property Manager to join AVEC on H in Washington, DC. A successful Assistant Property Manager will maintain a high level of customer service and have excellent communication skills. As Assistant Property Manager, you will have significant interaction with residents and prospective residents on a regular basis. * The Assistant Property Manager ensures a timely rent collection, records/posts to resident accounts, follows up on delinquent rents and deposits cash receipts in a timely manner. Collaborates with corporate accounting to reconcile accounts. Collaborates with legal counsel for eviction filings and procedures. Communicates effectively with residents, resolving issues at the property to the extent possible. Communicates effectively with manager, employees, and vendors. Oversees leasing, maintenance, and housekeeping personnel to achieve corporate and community goals. Oversees all work performed by contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projects. Manages initial certification and re-certification of the Inclusionary Zoning program and collaborates with DCHD to ensure all guidelines and policies are followed. Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to fair housing and equal employment at all times. Manages the process of access to units and the policies and procedures established by the Manager for the administration of a controlled unit key access system. Performs regular property inspections to ensure that property is maintained at all times in a manner consistent with WC Smith standards. Collaborate with the Property Manager to offer engaging and varied activities and events for residents. Weekend availability based on business need CAREER EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in business/marketing, or a relevant discipline; in lieu of a degree, at least 3 years of experience in Property Management Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel software), as well as Yardi Experience in Washington DC Rental Properties highly preferred Minimum of one year of working as or performing the duties of an Assistant Property Manager in the property management industry.
