Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Chief Medical Officer who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) you will:
•Provide executive leadership to design and develop new and existing clinical services.
•Work closely with and respond to the concerns and needs of medical staff
members and will be expected to foster and contribute to a close and mutually
beneficial relationship between the medical staff and hospital leadership,
particularly as related to clinical program development.
•Work consistently with the mission and values of the organization, ensuring
that the critical success factors are achieved
•Coordinate clinical resources across the corporation
•Coordinate corporate Patient Safety and Evidence-Based Practice/Clinical Care initiatives
•Coordinate corporate clinical decision support
•Provide leadership and support for clinical technology evaluation
•Provide leadership and support for clinical research activities
•Provide leadership and support for Care Excellence initiatives
•Provide leadership and support to triennial JCAHO survey processes
•Provide leadership and support for the AHC Health & Wellness Strategic Vision
•Provide leadership and support for the AHC Education & Research Strategic Vision

Committee Participation
•Chair, Corporate Physician Council
•Co-Chair, Care Excellence Steering Committee
•Co-Chair of the Corporate Patient Safety and Evidence-Based Practice Committee
•Member, AHC Board Quality Committee
•Participate in other corporate clinical committees, AHC Board subcommittees, etc.

• Strong clinical practice background
• Board certified in a specialty of the American Board of Medical Specialties
• Experienced as a senior physician executive
• Experience in quality management/performance improvement
• Expertise in clinical information systems
• Ability to travel occasionally

While some jurisdictions, including Maryland, permit the use of marijuana for medical purposes, marijuana continues to be classified as an illegal drug under the federal Controlled Substances Act. As a result, medical marijuana use will not be accepted as a valid explanation for a positive drug test result.

Adventist HealthCare will withdraw offers of employment to applicants who test positive for Cotinine (nicotine) and marijuana. Those testing positive are given the opportunity to re-apply in 90 days, if they can truthfully attest that they have not used any nicotine products in the past ninety (90) days and successfully pass follow-up testing.
