DCS Corporation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the design, development, implementation, and documentation of ground sensor components into US Army ground combat vehicles.

Essential Job Functions:

Participate and assist in the coordination of the systems engineering integrated product team and other technical forums at Ft. Belvoir, Product Manager Ground Sensors.

Provide monitoring and oversight of the development of software (SW) (C, C++) and firmware (FW) (VHDL) to ensure compliance with all Performance Specifications and Software Requirement Specifications.

Oversee incorporation of SW/FW changes to support user needs, enhance system capabilities, and fix problems encountered in testing or in the field.

Coordinate with customer platform program office to determine SW/FW related issues and concerns, conduct testing to detect SW/FW problems/bugs, prioritize all problems/bugs and conduct testing to ensure all problem/bugs have been addressed.

SW/FW development oversight requires support for all aspects of the SW/FW life cycle process (requirements development, design, code and unit testing, integration, as well as review and approval of test procedures, witnessing of formal qualification testing and approval of SW/FW release documentation).

Support for source selection, cost proposal reviews and monitoring of program progress and cost metrics and CMM/QA audits.

Support program reviews and system engineering technical reviews (System Requirements Review thru Physical Configuration Audit) IAW IEEE 15288.2-2014 Technical Reviews and Audits on Defense Programs.

Support technical interchange meetings between the government and suppliers.

Travel up to 10% of the time.

Ability to telework.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering and 10 years' experience with ground vehicle platform component integration.

DoD Secret clearance on start date.

Familiarity with modern software development engineering practices including Agile, Lean.

A minimum of four years' experience developing application and/or systems software in C, C++ or similar high-level language.

Ability to interface with different levels and expertise of Army Product Management development personnel and Program Executive Officer level personnel.

Experience developing and reviewing software performance specifications and interface requirements specifications to include: Software Development Plan, Software Requirements Specification, Software Test Plans, Software Version Description, Firmware Support Manual.

Knowledge of DOD systems engineering concepts, execution of systems engineering technical reviews, and verification and validation testing.

Knowledge of Software Configuration Management.

Familiar with Defense Acquisition University (DAU) weapon system development process.

Working knowledge of MS Office to include: MS Word, MS Teams, MS Power Point, and MS Excel.

Working knowledge of SharePoint.

Desired Skills:

Experience working in an Army Product or Project Manager organization.

Master's Degree.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
