Marketing Content Creator/Writer, Integrated Enrollment Marketing The Integrated Enrollment Marketing (IEM) office is seeking an experienced content writer to write compelling content directed to diverse audiences and across multiple channels. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Position:As a member of the IEM team, the content writer will write copy for a variety of projects (including print, web, mobile, video, email, and social media), working closely with multiple teams to develop messaging. The content writer will collaborate with key stakeholders at the university to translate marketing goals into clear communication reflecting Mason's brand, tone and voice. The ideal candidate is someone who is a passionate and skilled storyteller. The ideal candidate will not only be a strong writer and proofreader but will also be a team player, deadline-oriented, able to multi-task, and able to pivot to write for multiple platforms. This role requires a person who is highly self-motivated and capable of producing and adapting high-quality content. The ideal candidate is passionate about writing, attentive to detail, possesses exceptional organizational skills, and should be able to manage time and prioritize projects accordingly. Responsibilities:Writing strategic content aligned with the communication strategy specific to the platform, including emails, text messages, newsletters, social media, video scripting, and others;Identifying stakeholder information needs and translate them into written communications that are tailored to specific audiences; Developing and maintaining a clear and consistent brand voice;Proofreading written materials for typographical, grammatical, and format errors; ensuring products are of consistent quality; Understanding feedback and making necessary changes in a timely manner; andTranslating messages and priorities to optimize reach and interest.Required Qualifications:A bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing or a relevant field; OR equivalent combination of education and work experience;Excellent communication and written skills;Demonstrated project management and organizational skills; andRelevant work experience in marketing, public relations, user experience design or web design. Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in higher education is ideal; andExperience working with workflow systems or have the demonstrated ability to adapt and learn new technologies.
