Description:

Responsible for the coordination of the medical services in the Labor and Delivery and Post-Partum units in accordance with the policies and guidelines of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN). This role will maintain close working relationships with the Chair of OB/GYN department, members of the department, nursing leadership and other administrative leadership

Location: Holy Cross Health has two hospitals and four healthcare centers all a short driving distance from Washington DC and Baltimore, MD
Responsibilities include:

• Fostering communication among members of the Department of OB/GYN, nursing staff and administration about services and operational matters
• Providing leadership for quality, patient safety, risk management and utilization initiatives consistent with the policies and guidelines of the Department of OB/GYN and the hospital.

2. Medical administration of the OB Clinic and the OB Clinic inpatient service
• Supervision and scheduling of all Clinic service attending physicians
• Oversight of the Clinic administrative procedures and policies in conjunction with Clinic administrative management
• A close working relationship with the OB/GYN Education Coordinator to assure that education and training requirements for residents are met and the use of the residents matches the needs of the hospital

3. Provides clinical services to patients of the OB/GYN Clinic service
• Attending in OB Clinic (outpatient) at least one-half day per week
• Attending on OB Clinic inpatient service one day per week and two nights per month

4. Works closely with other medical services on issues that affect the hospital's maternity services and the OB Clinic
• A close working relationship with Maternal/Fetal Medicine Services
• A close working relationship with Neonatal Medicine

5.Works to create a strong clinical research program in OB/GYN

Minimum Licensure/Certification Required (if applicable):

Current Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology

Current license to practice medicine in the State of Maryland

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

At least 10 years clinical practice experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology

Membership in good standing.

Ability to supervise care provided to women in the OB Clinic and on the Obstetrics and Gynecology inpatient services
