Talent Acquisition Specialist George Mason University's Human Resources & Payroll department Talent Acquisition team seeks a Talent Acquisition Specialist, who will ensure the University's recruitment efforts are strategic, compliant, and effective in achieving Mason's hiring initiatives. Responsibilities: Conduct full life cycle recruitment searches, which includes but is not limited to: Project Management including planning and stakeholder/vendor management;Coordination of the search process to provide professional strategic recruitment support above normal Mason coordination efforts. This requires collaborating with departments and providing industry knowledge to develop and implement coordination efforts;Prescreening and evaluation of applicant pools to determine qualifications, handling of sensitive information that may affect search, and providing detailed analysis to search members and hiring authorities utilizing best HR and Mason policy as guidelines; Management of coordination efforts for applicant interviewing process;HR screening to assess applicants and answer detailed questions that search committees cannot communicate to candidates outside of the interview process. This may be prior to and during the interview process. TA Specialist will act as the main point of contact for communication with applicants throughout the recruitment cycle;Providing search committee guidance related to recruitment strategy, applicant evaluation, HR guidance related to federal and state policy and laws, and Mason hiring policy and procures; andEnsuring successful completion of searches of varying difficulty with reduced time-to-fill, increased efficiency, and improved applicant pool availability.Provide consultative guidance and of recruitment functions including:Advise departments on alternative sources of candidates to assist hiring managers with difficult recruitment situations. This includes an utilizing an in-depth knowledge of market availability, complex sourcing strategy, and institutional knowledge to provide a well thought out and articulated strategy based on a department's short and long-term recruitment and staffing goals; Research and acquire new advertising sources to ensure a diverse candidate pool;Create a strategic marketing and communication strategy for assigned positions that leads to shorter time-to-fill, higher quality applicant pools, and better fill rates;Manage all aspects of recruiting positions such as sourcing, vetting, and initial first round interviews; Analyze job descriptions and requests to provide recommendations and guidance to department heads; and Work in conjunction with Classification and Compensation on changes to the EWPs/PDs as needed. Required Qualifications:Possess skills with data management and analysis;Ability to communicate respectfully, clearly, effectively, tactfully and to a diverse population;Ability to communicate effectively with hiring authorities, search committee chairs, members, coordinators, Talent Equity Advisors, etc.;Ability to establish and maintain trust, rapport and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills;Demonstrated ability to productively participate in a multi-disciplinary team environment working towards common goals;Ability to manage highly sensitive information;Proficiency in usage of basic technological tools including laptops/computers, email, phones, and internet;Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel; Knowledge of and ability to utilize online software tools including video meeting/conferencing platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams; Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations;Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and in writing);Detail-oriented, organized and able to cater to various communication styles;Any combination of education and experience equivalent to Bachelor's Degree in a related field;Considerable (typically 5+ years) experience in strategic full life cycle recruitment; andSome (typically 3+ years) experience working in Human Resources or a related field. Preferred Qualifications:HR related certification preferred (SHRM-CP, PHR, etc.).
