COVID Student Compliance Coordinator

George Mason University's University Life (UL) is hiring a COVID Student Compliance Coordinator to work with the Dean of Students Office. About the Dean of Students Office:

University Life and the Dean of Students Office cares for the whole student by promoting inclusive well-being and fostering lifelong learning to prepare ethical leaders for the world. The Dean of Students Office provides support, assistance, and advocacy for students.

Responsibilities:

The Student Compliance Coordinator for the Dean of Students Office will be responsible for managing and implementing student COVID-19 response efforts for the Dean of Students Office. These efforts include, but are not limited to, responding to questions and inquiries about the COVID-19 vaccination requirements, coordinating and assisting with classroom and event adjustments related to COVID-19 needs, assist with the management and facilitation of the COVID-19 Unvaccinated Student Agreement for Campus and University Activities, and the creation and organization of associated reports.

This position is a restricted temporary position, with funding provided through June 30, 2022. This position will be a virtual telework position, with flexibility for occasional on-campus work as needed.

COVID-19 Compliance Response

  • Responsible for staying current on all George Mason University policies and protocols, and federal, state and local ordinances regarding COVID-19;
  • Manage and implement student COVID-19 response efforts for the Dean of Students Office;
  • Respond to questions and inquiries about the student COVID-19 vaccination requirements;
  • Coordinate and assist with classroom and event adjustments related to COVID-19 student needs;
  • Assist with the management and facilitation of the COVID-19 Unvaccinated Student Agreement for Campus and University Activities;
  • Review and ensure accuracy of student data reported for assistance, and forward to appropriate units for resolution, as needed; and
  • Create and manage a system to manage, track and monitor all referrals, and their status within university systems.


Compliance Reporting and Data Management

  • Conducts project coordination for key priorities;
  • Support the Dean of Students Office with student COVID-19 data management, as needed; and
  • Provides written and verbal updates and reports, as needed.


Departmental Duties

  • Participates in necessary meetings to support compliance;
  • Coordinates meetings with appropriate stakeholders;
  • Manage COVID-19 related projects; and
  • Other related duties, as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with project coordination and execution;
  • Ability to work independently and to coordinate with others;
  • Excellent critical thinking and strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Outstanding organizational skills;
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills including planning, establishing priorities, and multi-tasking;
  • Highly detail-oriented;
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, and produce real-time results;
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism;
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse populations; and
  • Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two to five years of related experience preferred.
