Manager, Cyber - Web Application Firewalls

This position represents a unique opportunity for those with hands-on cybersecurity technical and operational experience who have a desire to leverage and enhance that expertise in a perimeter facing cyber security organization. This individual will have the ability to use technical skills and cyber security subject matter expertise to provide effective oversight, credible challenge, and expert advice to help manage and control risk associated with web application firewall operations. This position will play a key and influential role in assessing and challenging cybersecurity capabilities and operational effectiveness.

As the Manager of Web Application Firewall (WAF) Operations, you will play a key role in the day to day operations of a small team of cyber technicians and engineers to review the application tuning requests, cyber operation controls, perimeter operation compliance, and associated processes. This individual will provide subject matter expertise and oversight and effective challenge of the WAF team operational efficiency, 24x7 support key cybersecurity domains such as network and endpoint security, perimeter defense, and security architecture.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight of cybersecurity web application firewall deployment and operation.
  
• Provide subject matter expertise and oversight of the bot protection operational efficiency, 24x7 support key cybersecurity domains such as network security, perimeter defense, and security architecture, prepare report of operation, team planning
  
• Draft assessments for senior management and other stakeholders, to include regulatory agencies and the Board of Directors, as needed.
  
• Stay current on emerging technologies in the perimeter protection and web application firewall products.
  
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and leaders across multiple organizations to achieve objectives.
  
• Coordinate program-related activities and deliverables to ensure effective collaboration within the team and across stakeholder groups.
  

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  
• At least 5 years of experience managing web application firewalls
  
• At least 2 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, alert management, and enterprise security logging
  
• At least 2 years of experience as a team lead
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
  
• 2+ years of experience with analysis and development of application security architectures
  
• 2+ years experience with implementation of application defenses (Web Application Firewalls)
  
• 2+ years of experience with Agile process, JIRA stories and reports
  
• 2+ years of experience in DevOps and CI/CD
  
• 2+ years of experience drafting reports and analytic assessments for senior leaders
  
• 2+ years of experience managing, consulting, and auditing in the fields of information security (cyber, technology, risk management, compliance, audit)
  
• Professional AWS certification
