We are currently seeking a Horizontal Operations (Ops) Manager to join our Chief of Staff team. We are passionate about keeping our design teams well managed so that they can deliver world-class products that redefine our customers' day-to-day financial activities.

About the role:

As Horizontal Ops manager, you will be responsible for running the engine, driving operational efficiencies and boosting team enablement for a 100+ organization that is rapidly growing. You will serve in a critical role on the Chief of Staff team supporting senior leaders and fostering collaboration, best practice sharing and partnership across our team of design managers embedded in each portfolio vertical.

What you'll do:

Business Operations
  • Oversee and manage team structure in partnership with design managers (e.g., hiring and headcount, contractors and vendors, balancing attrition)
  • Primary liaison with our recruiting partners; support recruitment efforts and prioritization across portfolio; facilitate sessions with design managers, recruiting partners, and senior leadership team on a weekly basis
  • Manage the budget and financial forecasting; support senior leaders and design managers in scoping new engagements
  • Proactively identify opportunities for business efficiencies and ensure risks are managed and mitigation plans in place
  • Identify needs and create a strategy to establish rituals and norms that support a culture of growth, inclusion, and authenticity

Horizontal Portfolio Operations & Management
  • Guide the strategic direction and support planning, resource allocation and standards across portfolios
  • Enable horizontal visibility and alignment across the organization (i.e lead monthly portfolio reviews, weekly reporting, etc)
  • Maintain a holistic view of the work happening on the team in order to make connections, identify opportunities, and ensure alignment to strategic priorities
  • Partner with design managers and senior leadership to coordinate and prioritize initiatives and resources, including resource planning and allocation
  • Report on the portfolio of work to business stakeholders. This may include reporting on workflow, scope, resourcing, forecasting, and value of design
  • Create and scale the highest-leverage systems, processes, and tools to create norms and rituals that allow the organization to operate as a high-performing, integrated team

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of Program Management experience


Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 5years of Project Management
  • At least 5 years of experience in a scrum environment
  • Comfortable managing cross-channel experiences
  • Comfortable working with Product and Tech partners
  • Experience managing multiple large teams and portfolios of work
  • Familiarity working with design or creative teams
  • Familiarity with agile principles, project management methodologies and tools
  • Experience championing a win-together mindset and driving inclusivity
  • Demonstrate a high EQ
  • Experience working collaboratively in large global organizations with multiple stakeholders and diverse communities
