Executive Assistant

The Gray Center is the nation's leader for research on the intersection of constitutional law and the administrative state, and it is seeking an Executive Assistant to help lead our scholarly initiatives.

The Executive Assistant will work with the Center's co-executive directors in all aspects of their leadership responsibilities: speaking and writing; teaching; planning programs researching major issues of constitutional and administrative law; and building the Center's communities of scholars, policymakers, judges, and practitioners; and leading all other aspects of the Center's work and growth.

This is a fast-paced role in a fast-growing institution, an ideal place for someone to begin their career in constitutional law and regulatory policy.

Responsibilities:


  • Assisting Directors with Center activities, including events, publications, and newsletters, including at events that might be off-campus and outside of normal business hours;
  • Assisting other staff with scheduling meetings and other calendar events;
  • Creating and maintaining databases of Center stakeholders; and
  • Other administrative and office duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities effectively;
  • Self-starter, highly motivated and detail oriented;
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels, including high-level officials in government and academia, in a professional manner and in different settings;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings (when the Center has events); and
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite as well as strong database experience.
