Undergraduate Program Administrator

The George Mason University Department of Psychology is seeking an enthusiastic and customer service-oriented individual to serve as Undergraduate Program Administrator.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate undergraduate program and course information;
  • Co-supervise the graduate advisors;
  • Assist with undergraduate orientation and other phases of undergraduate advising as necessary;
  • Collect all Psychology course syllabi and upload them onto the department Web site;
  • Serve as grading coordinator for the department;
  • Order textbooks and course supplies for all Psychology instructors;
  • Maintain all Psychology undergraduate files;
  • Maintain forms needed by students and faculty;
  • Market under-enrolled courses;
  • Use social media to raise the profile of the department;
  • Manage the Psychology Web site to maintain an active presence and raise the profile of department;
  • Prepare all adjunct and graduate teaching/research appointment contracts and forms, and coordinate all necessary background checks;
  • Voting member and secretary of undergraduate committee; and
  • Point of contact for all department curriculum and program changes.


Required Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Motivated self-starter;
  • High level of excellent customer service skills;
  • Strong ability to multitask and prioritize;
  • Ability to work in a team environment; and
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • College graduate;
  • Competency in Web site content management;
  • Competency in social media in a business environment;
  • Creativity is a plus;
  • Experience in a higher education setting; and
  • Previous George Mason University systems knowledge.
