Provide audience insight and define success using evidence-based metrics and analytics. Improve efficiency by implementing new technologies and promoting a common approach to marketing and communications. Strengthen alliances both within UL and between UL and campus culture by devising and executing targeted communications plans and creating connections through collaborative communication efforts. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Communications and Marketing, the Assistant Director will 1) Act as the account liaison for Housing and Residence Life and one other unit, functioning as a project manager and creative director in these spaces 2) Lead marketing strategy in these spaces to optimize student engagement and communications 3) Set goals and assess KPIs and 4) Adjust strategy as needed. Marketing and Communications Development and Execution for assigned unitsBe knowledgeable about all aspects of the work being done at the unit level in the assigned Portfolio, which will include Housing and Residence Life, by building relationships with key stakeholders, attending appropriate unit meetings, forming and participating in key committees;Create annual marketing plans and calendar in coordination with the Portfolio team;Manage projects by following team SOPs and using the project management platform to interact with portfolio clients and creative team; Guide the creative direction of all branding/marketing efforts;Create and execute communications plans; andUse expertise and research to adjust communication and marketing plans as necessary to ensure desired results and hit engagement goals. Stay apprised of other projects going on in units. Assessment Compose, compile, and present Portfolio performance reports. Use metrics and analytics to assess the success of marketing efforts for the Portfolio;Stay current with marketing trends. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the marketing strategies with regards to social media, website, digital communications, print collateral, presentations, and events; andUse metrics and analytics to assess the success of marketing efforts of the Communications and Marketing Specialists which directly report to this position.Professional DevelopmentContinue to develop professionally through membership and participation in applicable professional organizations and developmental workshops; andRepresent UL Communication and Marketing Shared Services on divisional and University-wide committees.Strategic Operations Participate in Strategic Planning for the division;Engage in Marketing and Communications activities pertinent to UL Strategic Planning; andHelp Director in strategic planning for unit - TK20. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's in marketing, communications, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Skilled marketer with knowledge about higher-education, marketing, and communication trends;Proven project management skills including working with a project management tool;Excellent oral and written communication skills;Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a deadline sensitive environment;Experience leading a team;Five years of experience in marketing and communications;Experience with a shared or centralized in-house marketing service;Experience in brand management;Experience in student affairs; andProven experience managing multiple projects while leading a team. Preferred Qualifications:Masters in marketing, communications or related field.
