Web DesignerGeorge Mason University's, University Life (UL) is hiring a talented Web Designer to work with the Communications and Marketing team on a variety of collaborative divisional and unit specific web projects. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Applications and Communications Analyst on the Marketing and Communications team in University Life, this role will support and assist with implementation of the graphic and user interface design of the University Life web presence (almost 60 sites). Execution of web visual design elements;Conceptualization of original website design ideas that bring simplicity to the user experience;Creation of wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to communicate interaction and design ideas with division stakeholders;Design, develop, test and deploy web sites using current and relevant web technologies with design strategies that support ease of maintenance;Work with Marketing and Communications team to develop design guidelines and for division and unit web sites. Required Qualifications: 3+ years' professional (paid) web design experience; Bachelor's in Computer Science, Graphic Design or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience;Proficiency with CSS and related design tools;Proven graphic design experience including proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite; Multimedia design experience, including animation and editing for video and audio; Knowledge of WordPress and Drupal standards and functionality;Current with the latest in web design and development trends;Extensive experience with the principles and practices of marketing and communication including graphic design expertise;Excellent oral and written communication skills.
