Classification and Compensation Assistant The George Mason University Human Resources (HR) and Payroll Office is looking for a part-time Classification and Compensation Assistant (up to 29 hours per week). Responsibilities:Support the Classification and Compensation team in the development and implementation of a market-based staff compensation system and other special projects;Serve as project management support, to include coordinating with departments to collect up-to-date job descriptions, scheduling focus groups, and keeping the project on schedule;Assist with branding, marketing, and communication of project goals and timelines;Assist with benchmarking jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation;May assist with other day-to-day Classification and Compensation actions, to include, reviewing and approving job posting requests and/or remote work agreements, responding to requests for job descriptions, and electronic filing;Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications:Demonstrated project and time management skills;High attention to detail and data integrity;Strong technical skills in MS Office, Excel, and HRIS systems (Banner preferred);Effective interpersonal communication and customer service skills, including tact and diplomacy;Ability to prioritize work and willingness to be flexible;Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism;Ability to work independently and meet deadlines;Experience with collaboration and communication with diverse individuals with differing needs. Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience;Demonstrated experience in Human Resources and Payroll, preferably in the field of Classification and Compensation;Higher education experience.
