Marketing and Communications Specialist, Admissions

The George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School, located on the Arlington campus, seeks a part-time Marketing and Communications Specialist, Admissions. About the Position:

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and writing skills and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines. The candidate may be a current or recent graduate. It is important that the candidate have solid organizational skills, proficient knowledge in Microsoft Word, Publisher, and Excel, in addition, experience working with content management systems.

This position may have the opportunity to be completely remote. This position will create marketing and communications content for the Law School's Admissions Office, including newsletters and other marketing content. This position will be responsible for managing the planning and execution of the Law School Admissions Office's email communications. The Marketing and Communications Specialist, Admissions will report to the Assistant Dean for Admissions or the Assistant Dean's designee.

Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging, informative emails and marketing content for current and prospective students;
  • Develop and manage email marketing calendar;
  • Copy edit and proofread all content;
  • Schedule and deploy emails using content management systems;
  • Ensure accurate email listservs are maintained;
  • Maintain Admissions intranet and websites;
  • Produce clean and artful design, aligning with Scalia Law School's branding guidelines;
  • Collaborate with Admissions Office to manage emails and other communications projects.


Required Qualifications:


  • Some experience (typically 6 months to 2 years) in graphic design, marketing, public relations, or web design;
  • Excellent communication and written skills;
  • Organizational and time management skills;
  • Experience with Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office;
  • Familiarity with HTML code.
