Graduate Recruitment Coordinator, Office of Graduate Studies The George Mason University Office of Graduate Studies, within the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC), seeks a motivated, critical thinker with outstanding communication and organizational skills. About the Position: The Graduate Recruitment Coordinator will work independently and collaboratively with Graduate Academic Affairs and CEC departments and university-wide constituents. The Coordinator reports to the Director of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment. The Graduate Recruitment Coordinator position involves responsibility for mastering College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) graduate programs, graduate admissions policies, procedures and requirements, and then communicating them to prospective students as they evaluate their options and navigate through the application process. The Coordinator is expected to perform duties across all graduate recruitment efforts to include, but not limited to, working directly with prospective students, develop recruitment efforts and outreach to achieve enrollment goals, actively participate in recruitment events, make and deliver presentations through public speaking to small and large groups, and coordinate and host recruitment activities. Additionally, the Coordinator assists with administrative tasks to include phone calls, emails, and walk-ins. This position requires a strong customer-service orientation via email, telephone, in-person; and strong interpersonal and presentation skills. There may be occasional work and recruitment activities needed that are outside of normal business hours, offsite, and/or remote. Responsibilities: The Graduate Recruitment Coordinator position has responsibilities in the following areas: Events and Outreach, Student Recruitment and Engagement, and Graduate Programs Knowledge. Events and Outreach: * Manage recruitment events both in-person and virtual; * Represent CEC graduate programs at college fairs and other recruiting events; * Lead in-person and virtual prospective student information sessions; * Moderate and lead online chats and webinars; * Coordinate meetings and make presentations about the graduate application process; * Collaborate with CEC departments and other academic units/offices on recruitment efforts; * Plan and coordinate recruitment and produce events; * Coordinate and manage specialty outreach programs; * Track and follow-up on leads and prospects, using the university CRM. Student Recruitment and Engagement: * Provide support to prospective students and applicants, serving as the main point of contact for applicants in various stages of the admission lifecycle in-person, via telephone, virtual platform, and email; * Perform review checks ensuring consistency across all graduate application admission decisions. Graduate Programs Knowledge: * Keep knowledgeable and up-to-date with CEC graduate programs in order to speak intelligently and accurately about the advantages of those programs and their outcomes with prospective students; * Remain current on competitive programs and application requirements, monitoring admission policies and requirements; * Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a related field; or a combination of education and experience in student recruitment, communications, or admissions; * Higher education admissions experience; * Outstanding communication skills; * Highly organized with great attention to detail; * Demonstrated customer service experience; * Ability to take initiative and complete projects and/or assignments with minimal supervision; * Demonstrated experience coordinating and planning events; * Strong analytical skills; * Excellent computer skills and willingness to learn new software; * Ability to manage competing priorities effectively. Preferred Qualifications: * Prior admissions recruitment or related experience is strongly desired; * Demonstrated experience coordinating events; * Working knowledge of social media platforms; * Experience with Salesforce/TargetX or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
