Office Manager, Stearns Center for Teaching and Learning

The George Mason University, Stearns Center for Teaching and Learning is currently seeking a part-time Office Manager. About the Position: The Stearns Center is very active with multiple teams, projects and events that serve faculty across the university. This position reports to the team's Operations Manager and serves a team of approximately 12 administrative faculty and classified staff.

Responsibilities: * Fiscal management, including budget systems purchasing (according to university guidelines), budget reconciliation, and travel authorizations and reimbursements; * General office management, including daily client communication, oversight of office supplies and space, key control and equipment inventory, and telecom and facilities work orders; * HR liaison duties, including support for candidate searches and staff on-boarding; * Providing high-quality general administrative support to the Stearns Center; * Working in collaboration with other administrative staff, including the Operations Manager and Events Manager; * Cross-train responsibilities to ensure effective office continuity at all times; * Supervision of part-time staff, as needed.

Required Qualifications: * Ability to work as part of a team, but also act independently; * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced office environment; * Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook and Word; * Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with large personnel and office management systems, such as the ones Mason uses like including Banner and MicroStrategy; * Budget/Fiscal management.
