Term Assistant Professor of Italian

Term Assistant Professor of Italian George Mason University's Department of Modern and Classical Languages on the Fairfax, VA campus, invites applications for an Instructional Assistant Professor of Italian (non tenure-track), beginning January 2022. This position is renewable. The Italian program at Mason includes a Minor in Italian Studies, internship and scholarship opportunities, study abroad programs, and a student-led club. Responsibilities:This position requires the instruction of twelve credit hours of Italian at various levels (elementary, intermediate and advanced) per semester. Required Qualifications:Applicants should be fluent in Italian and English, hold a Ph.D. in Italian, and have teaching experience in elementary, intermediate and advanced levels of language instruction. They should also be able to teach courses in English on Italian literature and cinema across a broad range of periods and topics. Preferred Qualifications:Applicants with expertise in the creation and implementation of online courses are particularly welcome.
