Senior Research AssociateGeorge Mason University's Center for Evidence-Based Crime Policy (CEBCP) in the Department of Criminology, Law and Society (CLS) seeks to hire a full-time, Senior Research Associate to begin employment in-residence in the CEBCP November 2021. About the Position:The role of the Research Associate will be to provide advanced research support to the CEBCP and its faculty members on projects, engage in grant application and management, and provide editorial assistance for a criminological journal. The Research Associate will also be encouraged to develop their own research projects and apply for grants and contracts in the Center. Required Qualifications:Ph.D. in criminology, criminal justice, or a related field at the time of employment;Highly skilled in quantitative and qualitative research methods and designs, program evaluation, and have experience working on funded and unfunded research and translational projects;Skilled in statistical analysis, database use, and the use of statistical software such as R, STATA, SAS, SPSS, or other equivalents and may be asked during the application period to show evidence of these skills;Direct experience in conducting meta-analyses and systematic reviews;Demonstrate advanced academic writing skills in the form of peer-reviewed publications or other reports;Prior experience interacting with justice practitioners and other governmental officials. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with applying for and managing research grants is preferred.The CEBCP seeks a responsible, ethical, and organized employee who pays attention to detail, can multi-task, is self-motivated, works well with others both inside and outside of the university setting, and is team-oriented. Benefits: This is a one-year appointment that may be renewed each year contingent on performance, progress, and available funding.
