Sr. Manager, Market Research, Brand Health & Analysis

Capital One is seeking a Market Research Senior Manager to join our Enterprise Brand Insights team to lead the Brand Health Tracking Program & associated Learning Agenda for a key line of business. In this role you will have the opportunity to provide consumer insights that inform marketing, advertising, and brand building strategies for the company. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing primary research and applied insights to drive business outcomes of key strategic initiatives.

As a valued member of the team you will...
  • Lead the management of a large, national marketing communications tracking program guiding vendor teams in design, execution, analysis and reporting
  • Leverage and integrate primary and syndicated research, multiple studies, secondary sources, and marketplace intelligence to generate impactful insights that inform business and marketing strategies
  • Diagnose and interpret brand, communications, and business issues to identify knowledge gaps for the development of a powerful learning agenda
  • Partner with business and marketing leads to develop the annual brand strategy, advertising, and media learning agenda
  • Integrate and share insights across lines of business, peers, and leaders to develop recommendations & solutions for key marketing decisions

What you will bring to the team...
  • Strong desire to learn and grow, with a particular emphasis on understanding how humans make decisions and how marketing can impact those choices
  • Experience in planning, execution, and analysis of market research, including questionnaire design, experimental design, qualitative research, and other market research methods
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to read and interpret survey results, identify insights, and synthesize how these insights impact marketing strategy
  • Strong writing and presentation skills, with an ability to simplify complex subject matter to present actionable insights in a compelling way (through effective design and data visualizations)
  • Experience with the development and management of a market research learning agenda
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial - comfortable with white space and interested in proactively proposing and pursuing new research projects to address partner questions

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience.
  • At least 7 years of experience in a primary market research role on either the supplier side or client side within the marketing research profession (planning, and executing studies)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in market research, marketing, business, sociology, psychology, behavioral economics, or biology
  • Advanced degree, such as an MBA or an MS (business, marketing research, consumer psychology, management consulting, or related field)
  • Experience leading brand health studies and/or long-term research projects focused on marketing communications and business results, ideally in the financial services industry
  • At least 3 years experience in a market research role on the client side
  • At least 2 years of experience at a Fortune 500 company or a company well-known for the marketing and market research disciplines
  • At least 2 years of experience working with analytical tools such as Python, R, SAS, SPSS, SQL or similar relational database tools
  • At least 2 years experience in a marketing strategy role
