White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Lactation Consultant for our Mother/baby unit who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing

As a Lactation Consult, you will:
•Role models positive customer service behaviors through the consistent application & deployment of AHC's Values and Mission principles and holds self & others accountable.
•Perform assessment of the mother-baby couplet identifying possible conditions or difficulties based on history, interview, and assessment.
•Uses critical thinking skills to develop an individualized plan of care for the patient/family.
•Provide information and problem-solving ideas to resolve breastfeeding difficulties through personal interaction and demonstration.
•Provides emotional support and crisis intervention directly to mothers/families and through staff mentoring.
•Creates a work environment that promotes cooperation, respect and trust among team members; Engages effectively in teamwork and team building processes.
•Identifies opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participates in change of practice based on evidence.

Qualifications Include:
•Graduate of an accredited nursing program
•Two years' experience in Nursing; one year's experience in Lactation
•Current Maryland State nursing license
•Current Basic Life Support Certificate
•IBCLC Certification within one year of hire

Work Schedule:

36 hour work week, 12 hour shifts covering day and evening (possibly 9 am to 9 pm)
