Duties

As a Mortgage Banking Analyst, you will:
  • Monitor the activities of issuers, sub servicers, and custodians to assess their performance, and compliance with Ginnie Mae MBS guidelines and secondary mortgage market practices.
  • Participate in the development of issuer and document custodian field reviews and works with the AE to resolve referred field review findings within prescribed timelines and in accordance with Ginnie Mae requirements.
  • Recommend changes in monitoring protocols and external operational risk policies and procedures to improve program efficiency and/or reduce Ginnie Mae's program risk.
  • Participate in the acquisition of a defaulted issuer's portfolio consistent with Ginnie Mae policy. This includes pre-default preparation of materials necessary to implement the default, traveling to the issuer's site to execute the default, and post-default activities.

    Qualifications

    You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

    Specialized Experience:

    For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

    - Working with mortgage-backed securities, including mortgage loan originations, document custody practices and procedures; AND
    - Utilizing compliance and risk management protocols for mortgage-backed securities programs; AND
    - Working with loan servicing, including default loan experience with Federal Housing Administration (FHA), Veterans Affairs (VA), US Department of Agriculture (USDA) or Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSE) - Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

    Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    • A one year probationary period may be required.
    • Must successfully complete a background investigation.

        first dose by October 11, 2021, and second dose by November 8, 2021
    • If receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, the deadlines are as follows:
        first dose is October 18, 2021, and second dose is November 8, 2021
    • If receiving the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 Vaccine, the deadlines are as follows:
        first and only dose is November 8, 2021
