Summary

This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system. Positions in the Cyber Excepted Service are positions necessary to carry out and support the mission of the United States Cyber Command.

It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA JAIC.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Critical Program Information (CPI) developed by the program is properly protected and applies comprehensive knowledge of cyber/CI to develop estimates and projections.
  • Provides advice on CI operations and planning capabilities and requirements and presents and defends positions effectively within the operational and planning communities.
  • Leads team(s) on special projects or studies of considerable scope and depth critical to the resolution of CI issues and problems.
  • Develops or approves complex approaches to problems and situations for which data is incomplete, controversial, or for which little precedent exists.
  • Provides subject matter expert advice regarding execution of CI activities and CI program development and execution.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as experience developing, implementing and evaluating OPSEC & Program Protection policies to advise management on related operational security issues and to ensure programs are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

  • Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination.
