Location: National Harbor, Maryland POSITION SUMMARY: It is the primary responsibility of the Room Service Server/Order Taker to provide high quality food and beverage service to guests in a fast-paced work environment, while following all local and departmental policies and procedures and in accordance to service standards. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Provide food and beverage service to guest rooms/suites will anticipating guest needs and handling requests within established property guest service standards Answer phones and greets guests in a professional manner Take guests' food, beverage, and amenity orders while utilizing suggestive selling techniques as needed Input and process food and beverage orders and tickets for Room Service utilizing POS system and advise of any applicable delivery/wait times. Follow up with guests if any issues or delays arise to provide update and or resolve order-related issues Deliver/run and serve food and beverages orders on trays/tables to guest rooms/suites Close out guest tickets/transactions including pickup of tables and food items from rooms/suites, final charging in POS system, and table resets Provide guest service including answering guest questions, assisting with guest issues/complaints, and escalating issues to management as needed Maintain cleanliness of work area, including the floors, tables, ledges, counters, etc; set and clean service trays/tables, stations, and all other work areas. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: n/a EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE : Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year of serving experience in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant operations. Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Preferred: Previous experience working in a similar resort setting. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Food Handling Alcohol Awareness KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Knowledge of property restaurants including food concepts, menu items, price range, dress code, and ambiance Knowledge of liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic drinks served on restaurant premises. Knowledge of all food and beverage service standards and procedures including service time, presentation, and quality standards. Excellent customer service skills. Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts. Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms.
