Senior Manager, Human Resources
Job Description We're hiring a Senior Human Resource (HR) Manager - Senior HR Business Partner who will provide HR leadership and manage human resources activities at our manufacturing site in Baltimore, MD. The position will report to the Director, Human Resources for the region and drive organizational capability within the site to help Grace meet growth and productivity goals. You will lead and execute critical HR processes for talent management, development, and succession planning. In addition, the position will have primary responsibility for site-based labor and employee relations activities. Relocation assistance will be offered. Responsibilities include: Participates and supports site safety programs and initiatives to ensure "No One Hurt" goal. Partner with Operations leaders to develop organizational strategies to achieve Grace's business goals and growth strategies. Develops individual and organizational capability with a focus on employee development and recruitment of top talent. Provide leadership, guidance and counsel to leaders on matters related to talent, organizational change, labor and employee relations, engagement and communications. Ensure alignment with HR global and regional strategies and drives the implementation of those strategies. Align with the HR service delivery model and coordinates regularly with the HR Centers of Excellence to deliver high quality services for employees, with focus on effective payroll, benefits administration, talent management and development practices. Promote and deliver on initiatives to drive a positive culture and workforce climate at the site. Prepare for and participate in union contract (CBA) negotiations process to achieve a successful agreement that ensures manufacturing continuity and delivers on business objectives; Guide and administer grievance administration, working to minimize or resolve at lowest possible level. Prepares for arbitrations and other dispute responses to unions and government agencies. Continuous improvement of site HR processes and services, with a focus on development of the site HR team Utilizes HR and business systems to administer programs, analyze data and workforce trends. Required Skills Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to develop strong, collaborative, working relationships with all levels in the manufacturing plant, plus corporate business teams and HR Centers of Excellence. Proficiency in anticipating and mitigating conflicts and disputes. Minimize grievance activity and develop solutions to resolve at lowest possible level. Demonstrated ability to execute successfully on strategic initiatives as well as tactical tasks. Strong professional maturity / judgment and accustomed to dealing with confidential situations. Ability to generate creative and practical solutions to issues. Required Experience BS degree in HR Management, Business, Psychology, or related field. 7+ years' experience demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility as a HR Generalist/ business partner. Experience with labor relations, contract administration and negotiations Experience working in union and non-union manufacturing environment Experience with driving employee engagement and positive employee relations with all levels of employees.
