Responsibilities Installs, supports, maintains and monitors IT Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure for reliability and uptime. Architects, designs, implements and maintains complex enterprise SANs and data backup recovery systems. In collaboration with other architecture and engineering teams(systems engineering, database administration, network operations and applications development), analyze and design enterprise storage systems used for customer data management, high transaction database processing and storage. Working with others, analyze and translate business requirements into a solution design for new installations or upgrades to existing platforms. Manages and provides operational support of data availability and retention systems such as server and SAN based backups and enterprise level backup solutions. We are looking for a Network Tool Engineering Lead Responsibilities: Responsible for the integration and implementation of network monitoring tools across the enterprise. Work closely with the Program Manager, NOC Leader and Architects in the design, development, and technical implementation of the Network Operations solution. Design and build the monitoring solution utilizing network monitoring tools consisting of Aruba Airwave, Microsoft Azure tools and other data analysis tools like NetFlow and Splunk. Develops performance criteria and measurement methods to create dashboards and tools for the Enterprise Operations team to team to work. Develop automation to better correlate data and ensure only actionable incidents are created for the operations teams to respond to. Analyze and translate business requirements into a solution design for new installations or upgrades to existing platforms. Integrate all tools supporting the overall solution so the Network Operations Center (NOC) is able to monitor the network 24x7. Develop monitoring operating process and procedures. Define alarm conditions as well as escalation processes and procedures to support Network Operations and the ITSM team. Maintain, configure and utilize new and existing monitoring tools to support/enhance the environment. Implement alerting escalation Responsible for managing and setting priorities for the monitoring of network systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, wireless. Work with the architect and engineering team to design the network tool infrastructure providing recommendations and IT best practices Provide best practices recommendations to help filter out false positive alerts. Participate in network management architecture, life-cycleengineering, and Tier 3/4 support. Provides specifications and detailed schematics and SOP's for network tool/monitoring architecture. Perform gap analysis for immediate relief on False-positive and non-actionable alerting Assist in developing metric based reporting for the tools infrastructure Support testing, configuration, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of network management tools capabilities. Make recommendations on where improvements can be made within SolarWinds environment Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection of tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Provides input into project status reports and participate in tracking and management of project issues and risks. Create and maintain global standard documentation for network management platforms and automation Perform installation, maintenance and upgrade of NMS tools and corresponding operating system Assist in developing metric based reporting for the tools infrastructure\ Qualifications Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD. Required Current/Active DoD Secret clearance DoD 8570.1-M IAT level II certification (CompTIA CySA+, CompTIA Security+, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP) Experience with Azure Monitor and Sentinel Proficient in scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, PERL, BASH, PowerShell Understanding of network monitoring protocols including SNMP, NetFlow, WMI, syslog, etc. Expert troubleshooting skills in SNMP, Connectivity, Hardware, Software, Agents Experience with design, development test & evaluation, network protocols, LAN administration fundamentals, and UNIX and/or Windows based operating system Experience supporting a DoD network REST API development experience and code versioning tools such as Git Strong oral and written communication and organization skills Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing to IT and non-IT staff Ability to work independently and as a member of a team to deliver high quality work Must be proficient with all Microsoft 0365 applications/services/tools Understanding of basic network concepts, familiarity with TCP/IP and VLAN functionality Demonstrative written and verbal communication skills to audiences with a wide variety of technical knowledge Very strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on root cause analysis and practical issue resolution Strong understanding of universal network services (DNS, HTTP, LDAP, DHCP) Strong understanding of typical infrastructure services (eg MySQL or other DBs, OpenSSH) Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (PHP, Bourne shell, Ruby, Python) Experience with working with network discovery tools and building visualization of networks Working knowledge of Azure Network Performance Monitor (NPM), Azure Monitor, NPM for Azure Express Route, Azure Security Center and Azure Network Watcher Preferred Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals Previous experience with documentation and content management and development of process documentation Experience with SAFe methodology Experience with integration of network/monitoring products with a ticketing system. Experience performing network monitoring in a virtual environment. Experience working in an enterprise cloud operations environment. Experience using automation tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible) to deploy and configure environments ITIL V3/4 Foundation Certification Experience with IT Service Management tools and continuous service improvement Understanding of DOD Network environments Experience supporting large IT projects leveraging Agile methodology For Colorado Residents Colorado Salary Minimum: $88,316.80 Colorado Salary Maximum:$188,801.60 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
