Learn more about this agency Responsibilities As a Budget Analyst, you will: * Design and conduct analytical studies and field surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of present funding and control procedures in meeting program objectives. * Assist in the development of proposals for Public and Indian Housing's policies, laws, and regulations and assures all requirements (legislative, budgetary, etc.) are met. * Explain fund assignment process to wide variety of interested parties. * Prepare analytical reports relating to field office funding program accomplishments against program objectives. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of experience at the GS-12 grade level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes: * Preparing budget estimates and justifications for review; AND * Analyzing directives, circulars, and policies and advising program managers; AND * Monitoring the budget and recommending reprogramming of funds as needed; AND * Preparing reports using automated accounting systems or other office automation software. Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
