Accounts Payable Specialist

Your Role As a Firmwide Accounts Payable Specialist, you will assist and support the Firmwide accounting team with financial, clerical, and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate payment of vendors and employees. The ideal candidate we are looking for is a team player with strong accounting, communication, and organizational skills. excited to work with a tightly knit team in a collaborative environment. What You Will Do * Review invoices for proper coding to general ledger, sales tax calculation, approvals and supporting documentation (including global payments) in Coupa * Ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP, and provide support during the financial audit * Audit and review employee expense reports to ensure compliance with firm policies * General support to regional Accounts Payable teams, including preparation of ad hoc reports, A/P registers and performance metrics * Full cycle accounts payable including month-end processes and close * Assist in documenting policies, procedures and controls * Responsibilities include ensuring A/P processes operate smoothly, recommending process improvements, resolving the escalation of issues and vendor inquiries, and collaborating with colleagues on special projects that support business Your Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field * 4+ years' experience in a high-volume accounts payable department * Knowledge of project-based accounting methodologies and practices * Experience with global AP processes preferred but not required * Strong problem-solving skills and work ethics * Knowledge of Coupa for AP invoice and expense report process * Strong knowledge of the MS Suite of products Excel and Word * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Willingness to cross-train other staff members in the AP function Life at Gensler Gensler is committed to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
