Amazon is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join its Reporting and Compliance team to focus on global income tax reporting related to new business initiatives, new business launches, corporate reorganizations, and the tax provision implications of new accounting standards. You will participate in various project-based working teams to understand the tax, accounting, and tax accounting considerations related to business initiatives, new legislation, and various transactions. You will assist in ensuring tax considerations can be operationalized by the various tax Reporting and Compliance teams and assist in preparing the documentation required to support the global financial statements. Additionally, you will assist in ensuring that the Company's tax transactions are appropriately reflected in the financial statements, present global tax and accounting results of the transactions to internal and external stakeholders, and assist in the management of tax risks and tax financial statement audits related to significant transactions. * 4+ years of experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field. * CPA and MST or equivalent * Minimum 5+ years multinational corporate tax experience * BA/BS in accounting or equivalent * Accounting for income taxes knowledge and experience * Knowledge of federal income taxation of domestic and international transactions * Foreign statutory tax provision experience * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills This role requires broad global tax, accounting, tax accounting, transfer pricing, tax reporting/compliance, and project management skills, as well as the ability to work with cross-functional teams. Specifically, the candidate should: * Have broad-based experience in matters related to tax (federal, state, US international, foreign), accounting (US GAAP, IFRS), operational transfer pricing, and tax compliance * Possess strong practical knowledge in ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes and IAS 12 Income Taxes including experience with financial statement audits of the income tax accounts * Have the ability to clearly and concisely summarize the tax and accounting considerations to stakeholders * Team with internal tax reporting and compliance group to implement tax operational changes resulting from restructurings and business initiatives in the global tax provision * Be comfortable liaising with other members of the global tax department * Be a detail-oriented, self-starter, hardworking individual who is able to take transactions through their entire lifecycle, from brainstorming, execution, to financial statement tax audit support on a global basis * Be organized and demonstrate excellent project management and problem solving skills Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
