Aligned to Prudential Advisors vision to be recognized as the leading provider of financial advice and solutions and the top destination for talent, the PARAPLANNER is a critical asset to the firm. Reporting directly to the Principal of the Mid-Atlantic Region, the PARAPLANNER will be responsible for constructing financial plans by managing the financial planning software, inputting client data, building scenarios and creating a final deliverable for clients. PARAPLANNERs will also work on keeping financial plans current and helping to answer basic client questions. They often attend client meetings and take extensive notes. While many PARAPLANNERs regularly correspond with clients, they do not normally give out financial advice. Primary focus areas of this role include: General Support * Supports the Financial Planner with analysis, client service and technical assistance Analytical Support * Attends client meetings and takes extensive notes * Analyzes client information and prepares reports and presentations * Enters information into financial planning software and prepares draft financial plans * Analyzes asset allocation * Researches products and product pricing and gathers information on products * Researches investment alternatives and their pricing * Creates custom implementation schedules for planning scenarios Client Service * Answers basic questions for clients (a license may be required for some) * Shows clients how to access financial planning software * Enters or updates cost basis information * Maintains information in the CRM system * Sets up and retrieves reports in the portfolio management system * Assists in generating performance reports Responsibilities listed above may or may not apply depending on the unique needs of each firm. Competency and Skill Required * Engaging communicators who enjoy teamwork and collaboration * Passionate for building relationships * Able to think on their feet and create solutions for a variety of personalities * Curious and creative, critical thinkers who want to learn * Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and embracing change * Committed to following through from start to finish * Proficient with Microsoft applications, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel * Proficient with eMoney: data entry, analyzing reports and creating client presentations with a focus on alternate scenarios and developing compliance-approved client recommendations * Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Teams and Zoom for Business Experience * 1-3 years financial services experience or prior experience supporting financial planning * FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses desired * Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional (FPQP) or CFP certification a plus Education Bachelor's degree (accounting or finance suggested) or three years' financial services experience preferred * Prudential Financial, Inc. of the United States is not affiliated with Prudential plc. which is headquartered in the United Kingdom.
