The Role Reporting to the Senior Director of Design, the Interior Designer is responsible for working on interior design related projects within AvalonBay including Remerchandising, CapEx and non-routine projects. This role also works with design managers on construction documentation and construction administration for inhouse designed interior projects. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Act as a lead designer and project manager for Remerchandising, CapEx and non-routine projects. Work on design, manage schedule, budget and construction process. * Manage furniture procurement process for various projects. * Collaborate with Asset management and corporate teams, also with external consultants. * Work with design managers for inhouse designed projects, support design and perform construction documentation and administration. You Have A Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture or related field is required. LEED Accreditation preferred; NCIDQ Certification preferred. Ability to travel within the US on occasion will be required (when it is safe to do so). Ideal candidate will possess 6 - 8 years of relevant experience in the multifamily, hospitality and/or commercial design space including: * Strong knowledge in construction documentation and construction administration. * Furniture procurement knowledge preferred. * Proficient in Adobe, AutoCad, Revit, SketchUp and/or Enscape * LEED Accreditation preferred * NCIDQ Certification preferred * Strong visual presentation skills * Possesses up-to-date knowledge of design industry trends and best practices * Ability to manage multiple external design projects simultaneously while prioritizing and completing set milestones * Builds strong relationships with both internal and external parties to achieve results * Proven ability to identify and implement design solutions How AvalonBay Supports You We know that our teams are the beating heart of our success and we're committed to showing our appreciation.
