PAE has an opportunity for an Accounting Clerk IV to join our team in Arlington, VA Summary/Description: The Accounting Clerk maintains journals or subsidiary ledgers of an accounting system and balances and reconciles accounts. Typical duties include one or both of the following: * Reviewing invoices and statements verifying information, ensuring sufficient funds have been obligated, and if questionable, resolving with the submitting unit determining accounts involved. The review will include coding transactions, and processing material through data processing for application in the accounting system. * Analysis and reconciliation of computer printouts with operating unit reports (contacting units, researching causes of discrepancies, and taking action to ensure that accounts balance). Supervisor provides suggestions for handling unusual or non-recurring transactions. * Conformance with requirements and technical soundness of completed work are reviewed by the supervisor, or are controlled by mechanisms built into the accounting processes. In addition to the duties of the Accounting Clerk III, the Accounting Clerk IV includes the following duties requiring a greater degree of judgement and independence relative to the Accounting Clerk III: * Developing and analyzing data reports to provide reconsideration to the COR and team leads and/or COR supporting justifications to components' financial planning. * Track outstanding payments to ensure funds are de-obligated as needed. * Create and maintain detailed spreadsheets tracking incoming invoices that require manual input within the financial system. * Provide daily assistance to students, clients, and vendors on the resolution of payment questions, issues, and disputes. The Basic Qualifications for this position are as follows: * High School Diploma Required, Relevant Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal government secret clearance if needed Preferred Qualifications / Experience: * Work experience in an educational or training institute. * Skills or experience relevant to the particular training division that the contractor is being proposed to support (eg foreign language skills in SLS or regional experience in SPAS/AS). Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Fluency in the English Language. * Two to three years of experience in a related field. * Superior organization skills with a high level of attention to detail. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * The ability to interact effectively in a multicultural setting. * Excellent customer service skills. * Ability to follow technical direction; work independently and as part of a team. * The ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office business applications software sufficient to meet the needs of their specific position (eg Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Work Environment: * This position is performed in a traditional office environment.
