To learn more, visit www.U.Group. Role Summary As a Marketing Manager, you will lead account management and marketing strategy functions across the portfolio. You are expected to serve as a marquee program lead, working as the primary driver for customer satisfaction, account strategy, on-contract growth, and marketing strategies and tactics. This position interfaces with the government client as well as program and project managers and contracting officers. Your time will also encompass operational duties, including managing a team of U.Group marketing strategists, analysts and designers, monitoring portfolio performance, and providing meaningful intervention when delivery issues arise. You may also lead on business unit priorities related to resourcing, process improvement, cross-team collaborations and business development, as assigned. You will work closely with the Civilian + Commercial leadership team, as well as the Marketing Strategy practice area to understand customer needs, industry trends, and align with U.Group's capabilities to grow the business. This position reports to the Director of Marketing Strategy and is responsible for both annual growth targets mapped to U.Group company goals for the portfolio. Key Objectives Objective 1: Partner with team members, client stakeholders, and other contract vendors to ensure strategic goals are being met * Lead development of end-to-end marketing strategies and guide tactical plans for program offices. * Provide strategic input on overall campaign strategies, consult on campaign progress and ensure quality control of campaign. * Provide strategic direction and review deliverables for quality, style, accuracy, and effectiveness for target audiences and stated goals. * Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices across the integrated marketing spectrum, and share out to colleagues and clients as recommendations, articles, or POVs. * Develop creative and project briefs for digital and traditional marketing tactics. * Contribute to the development of branding and messaging, SEO/SEM, and paid media strategies. * Create and oversee multi-channel outreach tactics, including social media management, brand activations, and customized client-owned media events. * Guide the development of goals and KPIs to report on performance, including observations, key insights, and recommendations. * Meet regularly with client and project stakeholders to foster collaboration and communication, refine marketing strategies, and deliver great work that has an impact. Objective 2: Oversee and manage the success of the portfolio, to ensure overall excellence in delivery, as well as profitability and compliance. * Measure performance monthly forecasts and project status reporting with a close-eye toward company goals. * Provide oversight and quality assurance for all forecasts, working with team members to make adjustments and corrections as needed. * For all projects with under-burn, work with the project managers, project teams, and practice area leadership teams to develop mitigation strategies, such as reallocating team members, additional hiring, or contract extensions. * Identify risks and challenges to U.Group delivery, working with project managers, as well as practice leads and contributors, to remediate issues. * Provide reports as requested to the Portfolio Director and Director of Marketing summarizing portfolio performance and flagging any associated risks and mitigation actions. Objective 3: Provide leadership and development for a team of strategists, analysts and designers. * Coach and mentor team members, empowering them with the skills and opportunity to succeed in their roles and professional progression. * Conduct weekly check-ins with direct reports to keep a pulse on project and team member performance and general well-being. Ensure that direct reports are following U.Group operating procedures and best practices. * Work to ensure that Practice area mentors are connecting with team members, helping them to continue to learn about best practices and methodologies, and empowering them to contribute to company initiatives and industry events that progress them toward their personal and professional goals. * Setting and periodically measuring individual OKRs. Objective 4: Strategically manage the portfolio, driving on-contract growth. * Maintain a broad understanding of your customers' business strategies, drivers, goals, and initiatives, as well as the customer's organizational opportunities and competitive landscapes, to enable successful delivery and growth opportunities. * Strategically manage customer relationships that result in successful delivery outcomes, including periodic and strategic performance feedback sessions to gather information on areas where U.Group can improve delivery during contract periods of performance. * Cultivate and expand relationships across a deep network of customer stakeholders to maintain a holistic understanding of the customer, needs, and priorities. * Lead development and execution of account strategies mapped to customer goals, industry landscape, and U.Group capabilities. * Represent U.Group at customer, industry and/or tradecraft opportunities (ie, via conferences, Meetups, working groups, memberships, trainings, etc.) to build relationships, establish partnerships, and grow the business. * Expand portfolio and relationships to include new TOs, FTEs, and/or project-based work. * Work with the Project Management team to maximize staffing, budget, and remaining contract utilization by optimizing delivery team roles and shaping new work aligned with strategic goals and capabilities. * Actively shape recompete and new business opportunities; develop capture strategies, small business partners, and proposal responses.
