ES201 Editorial Lead Join a team of communicators supporting Heliospheric missions and science at Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland and at NASA HQ in Washington DC. These missions include Solar Orbiter and Parker Solar Probe which provide discoveries of what is happening with our sun and the Heliospheric environment. The team communicates NASA science through web posts, social media, video production and podcasts. Team members have a goal of expanding the reach of science communication to broad audiences including secondary schools, Hispanic communities, the general public as well as providing information to scientists and experts. Work is currently conducted by telecommuting but will move onsite at Goddard when the Center fully opens. Job responsibilities include: EDITING: Edit communication products for effectiveness, understand-ability, and NASA style. WRITING: Create digital and multimedia news and information products including creating websites; writing and editing feature stories, blog posts, and press releases; producing social media products; and organizing and planning social media strategy. MISSIONS: Work with new missions to develop communications plans, key messages, and strategies. MEDIA: Provide support to Heliophysics division scientists and other staff, including messaging, communications products, and advice for interacting with the news media and social media. EVENTS: Coordinate and provide support for in-person events such as NASA Socials, press conferences, media days, and friends and family days. COORDINATE: Coordinate with media outreach, social media, video production and other specialized teams to spotlight NASA's Heliophysics missions and science to the public and other key audiences. Desired Skills and Education: BA/BS in a communications or physical science field. 5 to 10 years of experience in public affairs or a similar field. Background in communicating science to public audiences. Strong writing experience. US Citizenship or Permanent Residency Required. Team ADNET is working with Goddard Space Flight Center to fulfill NASA's vision for space exploration and working with the Science and Exploration Directorate to fulfill its many missions.
