Our location in Elkton, Maryland, is looking for an experienced Diesel/Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair off-road, heavy mobile equipment, industrial trucks and small pick-up trucks, both gasoline and diesel. The right candidate will have the opportunity to work with an experienced, elite maintenance team whose primary goal is to maximize equipment availability while supporting a company. We are looking for mechanically inclined candidates with the willingness and ability to become proficient and develop new skills for a career in heavy equipment maintenance. We are willing to provide the successful candidate with all levels of training and development. Description of Position: Determine overall condition of machines through troubleshooting, repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance Diagnose issues with hydraulic and electrical systems Restore equipment to working order through component replacement and/or repair Exhibit positive and effective communication and interaction with other employees Utilize operators and parts & maintenance manuals in determining procedures and identifying parts Perform inspections of completed repairs to ensure thorough and quality of repair Follows schedules, completes all required PM maintenance operations including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments and tire rotation Must operate CDL and Non-CDL vehicles to perform road tests, as well as shuttle in and out of the garage for repairs and maintenance Perform emergency repairs on job sites Must be able to lift heavy equipment including brake drums, tires, ladders, tool chests, floors jacks, etc. when necessary Must be able to operate shop equipment and hand tools required to perform work Maintains tools and workplace so that conditions are neat and orderly Qualifications: Prior experience a plus High School Diploma or GED preferred Valid driver's license, CDL preferred Vo-Tech School a plus Mechanically inclined Ability to safely lift over 75lbs Knowledge of tools, procedures, technical skills and safety rules used in the maintenance and repair of gasoline, diesel and alternative powered equipment
