This position is part of the Business Technology Office (BTO) team within our company's Investments and Capital Markets division (I&CM). This is an opportunity to join a fast paced team that interacts with all areas of our company's business, with specific focus on distressed asset management and hedging activities. This position is responsible for software development, data subject matter expertise, customer service, solution prototyping and Level 3 production support for our company's I&CM BTO applications. This role will also play a leadership and mentoring role within the development team. Our Impact: The Investments and Capital Markets (I&CM) division is responsible for management of the retained portfolio as well as our company's debt funding, liquidity management and interest-rate hedging. The division is also responsible for I&CM securitization. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, related field or equivalent work experience 8 - 10 years of application development and support coupled with infrastructure experience 6 years of collective experience with databases (Sybase, DB2, SQL Server, Postgres) 6 years of hands on experience building solutions in Python Sound proficiency with Python and Java based technologies Strong Knowledge of Python, Django web framework, Java, Java frameworks, Web Services, HTML, Bootstrap, JDBC, ODBC, SQL, Nginx and Gunicorn Experience using GitLab, Git TeamForge, Jenkins, Conda, Artifactory and Docker Experience working in a test-driven continuous integration continuous delivery (CI/CD) environment Ability to triage and prioritize concurrent tasks Excellent interpersonal, team, verbal, written and listening skills Ability to speak directly with business customers to derive requirements and understand challenges Strong EDM/SDLC project management experience Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask; can set priorities and follow a timeline Strong decision making and problem solving skills and experience with project delivery Sound interpersonal and team working skills Familiarity with Mortgage Industry or direct company Experience is an added plus Knowledge of ITIL concepts Keys to Success in this Role: Employ extensive professional experience and creativity to resolve complex technical problems Provide L3 Production Support for I&CM core applications Provide solutions to technical issues, including "hands-on" code enhancements and defect fixing to the applications in the portfolio Serve as a champion for change Drive for tactical outcome to increase development team's efficiency and productivity Engage with the business users, application owners and other affected parties during problem resolution Understand the customer's business processes and the end to end software ecosystem in which products operate, including upstream data dependencies and downstream consumers Document lessons learned, help maintain knowledge database Coordinate end to end application onboarding to production Manage concurrent initiatives and activities Ability to positively adapt to rapidly growing and changing environment, while working under pressure Promote top code quality by leading design and code reviews, and solve challenging issues related to performance tuning and scalability Train and mentor other team members on best practices and past experiences Some weekend and evening hours will be required
