POSITION SUMMARY : The Information Technology Department is responsible for selecting, deploying and supporting software, hardware and telecommunication resources used by the 450+ staff members of the Central Administrative Offices (CAO) of the Catholic Diocese of Arlington (CDA), the Arlington Catholic Herald (ACH) and the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington (CCDA) in fulfilling their mission within the Diocese. The Manager, Application Administration is responsible for both the day-to-day operations and management of small to mid size software project initiatives for the Applications Services team. This is a managerial position that requires knowledge of software technology but is not a hands-on technical position. This position oversees the daily operations of business applications, which includes monitoring and analyzing business applications performance; coordinating maintenance and support; and recommending upgrades/changes. PRINCIPAL DUTIES : Oversee the day-to-day administration of applications services operations, balancing personnel resources across software application support and new software project initiatives. Supervise Applications Services staff Coordinate the execution and completion of applications services related tech support tickets. Engage value-added resellers (VARs) in problem resolution of critical applications issues regarding availability, performance and error identification of enterprise-wide software applications. Ensure applications services vendors are complying with delivery, support and maintenance of SLAs as defined in contracts. Monitor, upgrade and coordinate the release and implementation of all service patch releases, updates and upgrades. Collaborate with Network Services to coordinate testing and application of maintenance on critical databases. Prepare and utilize business requirements to assist CDA staff with the preparation of feasibility studies and proposals for new software application project requests for submission to Information Technology Project Review Board Lead project management for all application projects using appropriate project management methodologies and participate on project teams responsible for application software implementation and upgrades. Guide, review and approve design and build the configuration of custom interfaces and the implementation of SaaS/COTS integration components. As Disaster Recovery Coordinator oversee the creation and maintenance of documentation content to satisfy the applications services sections of the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Review and approve Business Applications Administrator's updates in response to the annual security access review. Provide information for the annual IT Security Audit submission regarding critical application version, SQL platform and security permissions of all financial applications. Act as on-call primary point of contact for after hours and weekend infrastructure issues for a one-week rotation every four to six weeks. Other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS : Knowledge/Skills: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of project management in a technology setting. Proficient in Microsoft Project. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Teams. Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and to work independently and with minimal supervision. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Customer service centric. Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and an effective player/coach. Familiarity with enterprise-class business applications such as: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and Content Management Systems (CMS). Knowledge of SDLC best practices. Knowledge of ITILv4 for services delivery. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field. Years and Types of Experience: Five years application development or software solution implementation and maintenance experience.
