PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Assist in managing all daily operational beverage functions consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department, and resort. Assist in managing the Beverage team to include efficient staffing, team member development and training, performance management, hiring/termination decisions and policy enforcement. Responsible for maintaining accurate paperwork for payroll, records, employment, etc., in the Beverage Manager's absence. Maintains standards in quality of drinks and service. Ensures efficiency of service through physical observations in the casino and back of the house areas. Represent needs of department to the Beverage Manager. Assists in maintaining Company and Departmental health and safety standards. Completes appropriate reports for shift as required by Beverage Manager. Assists in overseeing of ordering and maintaining of par levels for each beverage outlet. Reduces waste and breakage of all products. Conducts Team Updates meetings and relays pertinent information to the staff. Checks for proper appearance standards among all beverage personnel. Checks for gaming permits before checking in bartenders and bar porters. Checks cleanliness of bars. Checks levels of products in each outlet. Manages staff to ensure they are following proper policies and procedures. Supervises casino floor, service bars, and all beverage outlets. Other job-related duties as requested Perform other job-related duties as requested SUPERVISION: Model Bartenders Model Cocktail Servers Model Apprentice Bartender Model Bus/Runner MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Associate's degree in Business Management or Hospitality or equivalent work experience with luxury resorts and restaurant organizations with full responsibility over Beverage A minimum four (4) years of experience in a high-volume bar environment, with at least one (1) year of experience in the direction and supervision of employees, and minimum one (1) year of wine and beverage service experience. At least 21 years of age Effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms PREFERRED: Bilingual, English as the primary or secondary language Previous experience working in a similar resort setting CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Gaming license as required by state of Maryland Proof of eligibility to work in the United States KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Excellent customer service skills Must possess good communication, organizational, and supervisory skills. Must have strong coaching and development skills. Working knowledge of labor and food cost control methods. Solid knowledge of International products and terminology. Must have strong human relations skills to lead a very diverse team. Ability to read and write in English proficiently. Professionally groomed and act as a role model. Basic computer skills and experience with computer based reservations systems. Positive attitude, self-motivated, polite, energetic and is a willing learner. Ability to digest complex information and communicate this to all employees. Knowledgeable about health and safety regulations. WORKING CONDITIONS: Indoor working conditions with moderate to loud noise levels Physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period.
