Fauquier Health The Ultrasound Technologist performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. This position has the specific expectation that all tasks are performed with a patient centered focus, while also seeking opportunities to continually improve core processes. Reports to: Physician Services Practice Manager Essential Functions Reviews and verifies physician orders consistently according to dept. policy; utilizes appropriateness criteria. Obtains required medical information (using approved assessment form) from patient prior to procedure or examination as is appropriate. Demonstrates a high level of technical competency (utilization of imaging system and safe operating procedures) and clinical competency (patient positioning, knowledge of anatomy/physiology) in performing all exams/procedures. Following department-approved protocols, produces images/exams that are highly diagnostic in an acceptable turn-around time. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Follows AIDET model to consistently achieve highest quality of patient satisfaction. Job Requirements: Minimum Education Required - Accredited Program or Certificate in Radiology Minimum Work Experience Preferred - 1+ years of experience as a registered technologist in the appropriate modality Required Skills Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified/licensed in good standing with appropriate professional registry: Ultrasound: Must be a graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program and RDMS examination eligible; must pass the RDMS examination within 12 months of hire, or 18 months for new graduates.
