Responsible for the maintenance, inspection, diagnosis, and repair of construction equipment machinery and components, primarily in a field setting. Efficiently and effectively diagnose and perform field service repairs as directed and ensure the proper completion of each to the customer's satisfaction. 2. Ensure that all required parts, materials, and supplies necessary to complete the repair are ordered and obtained prior to arriving at the jobsite. 3. Identify and arrange for the procurement of additional items as needed after initial inspection and diagnosis of the service repair. 4. Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations and guidelines necessary during repair and ensure work area is properly cleaned upon completion. 5. Ensure that the customer is kept informed of completed repairs and communicate to them any problems or issues found that extend beyond the scope of the original service call. 6. Maintain an adequate level of tools necessary to perform the service requirements. 7. Document and maintain proper records of time spent on each repair, parts and materials used, and detailed descriptions of work performed. 8. Ensure that all parts and materials not used are returned upon completion of the service work per the established guidelines. 9. Provide labor hours daily to the Service Manager or Branch Administrator to ensure timely posting of hours to the appropriate work orders. 10. Prepare and submit expense reports (accompanied with the appropriate reciepts) and service truck mileage on a timely basis. 11. Ensure that the service truck is properly maintained in good working condition and appearance. 12. Maintain personal appearance in a neat and professional manner (within the context of the working environment) and ensure professional communications with customers and coworkers. 13. Notify Service Manager of any tooling, shop, yard, or vehicle requirements or deficiencies. 14. Continue with service training education to enhance knowledge and service capabilities, and remain current on new technologies. Job Requirements: Experience At least 5 years of experience in diagnostic and repair work on construction equipment machinery. Knowledge Good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions required. Must be competent with hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. Skills Must possess strong mechanical and diagnostic skills and good problem solving capabilities. Must also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Abilities Must be physically capable of performing service repairs on heavy construction equipment. Must be able to read and interpret technical service information, manuals, bulletins, blue prints, and schematics. Must be highly motivated and able to perform well in less than perfect job settings with little supervision. Must be customer service oriented and able to work productively with customers and employees.
