The preferred location of this position is in Mclean, VA. or possibly Sierra Vista, AZ. (May consider these other locations; St. Augustine, FL., Bethpage, NY., or Norfolk, VA).You will be responsible for establishing and leading the MA function for the Autonomous and Tactical Air Systems (ATAS) Business Unit (BU), and will have dotted line reporting responsibilities to the BU Vice President. The BU has programs located in Sierra Vista, AZ, St. Augustine, FL (and other FL locations), Bethpage, NY, Clearfield, UT, Norfolk, VA, and a variety of OCONUS locations.The ATAS BU is a key element of the Global Sustainment & Modernization Division (GSM) within the DS sector. As a key leader, partner and essential member of the ATAS leadership team, the MA Director will lead a high performing MA team responsible to facilitate a continuous improvement culture focused on increasing affordability, process effectiveness and efficiency; and will be responsible for executing, monitoring and reporting on the health of the quality system and the quality of the products and services. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated success leading broad organizations within cost and schedule while achieving a high level of employee engagement. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of solving complex problems through systematic and objective evaluation of information resulting in effective communication, championing, and implementation of change with a diverse set of internal and external customers and suppliers. The BU MA Director reports to the Division MA Director with additional reporting responsibilities to the BU Vice-President.Your Roles and responsibilities:* Provides leadership and guidance to the MA and supplier quality team, and will be the BU focal point for all MA activities including Program Assurance, Quality Assurance, System Assurance and integration with Supplier Quality. * Defines and monitors program specifications, quality metrics, internal audit metrics and processes to ensure mission success.* Promotes the professional development of the Mission Assurance workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement.* Maintains the highest level of commitment to quality, compliance and internal controls in adherence to company values and ethics.* Provides clear assignments, helps employees connect their efforts to the bigger picture, creates an inclusive work environment characterized by mutual respect and the valuing of differences, and builds a culture that motivates employees to their highest levels of performance.* Assures compliance in quality, risk management, safety, process improvement, subcontractor and supplier quality, configuration and data management in accordance with contractual requirements.* Leverages comprehensive metrics, customer and employee feedback to assess program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission success.* Develops and administers budgets, schedules, and performance standards.* Responsible for the preparation of proposals for the Mission Assurance team.* Frequent interface with executives and customer representatives including on-site customer representatives concerning projects, scheduling requirements, and contractual clarifications.* Thought leader influencing and impacting strategy for the program, quality and Mission Assurance while driving innovative change.* Regularly analyzes alternative courses of action for continued program quality* Use your complete and thorough understanding of all facets of Quality as well as proven leadership, and communication skills across all levels of the company* Establishes and nurtures excellent working relationships with all Customers both internal and external, and be able to understand quickly and sufficiently the technical domain encompassed by the BU.* Manages MA support for existing and future programs and task orders in the BU including Production, Maintenance, Software, Design and Supplier Quality.* Ensures Implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the established QMS according to the requirements of the Quality Standard and Division, Sector and Corporate quality policies, processes and procedures ensuring the total integration of quality requirements throughout all phases of design, planning, procurement, test, delivery and post-delivery support. Basic Qualifications:1. Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 15 years' or a Master's Degree with a minimum of 10 years' experience related to Quality/ Quality Management/Mission Assurance2. Strong strategic and analytical skills3. Experience working with/managing personnel on international programs4. Supplier Quality management experience5. Experience leading ISO9001, AS9100, AS9102 and CMMI requirements and understanding of relationships with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).6. Experience with FAA audits/requirements7. Demonstrated knowledge of the proposal process and BOE creation8. Management experience and skills or other comparable leadership positions to include management of offsite personnel9. Understanding of Continuous Improvement concepts, process and tools.10. Understanding of Lean-Agile methodologies11. Working knowledge of various methods of root cause analysis (eg, 5 Why, Ishikawa, Current Reality tree, etc.)12. Business acumen in the context of the impact of quality or lack of quality on Profit & Loss, cost and schedule13. Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal.14. Current Secret security clearance Preferred Qualifications:1. Master's degree2. Background in engineering, logistics, and/or manufacturing (aircraft, missiles, electronics/avionics systems).3. Familiarity with SAP4. Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification to drive continuous improvement Salary Range: 151100 - 262400 Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
