Senior Manager, Cyber Data Strategy Lead

As a Senior Manager in Capital One's CyberSecurity team, you will apply your leadership, project management, and analytical skills to our highest profile Cyber projects. You will lead a team of associates responsible for working across the enterprise to develop and implement cutting edge solutions to ensure Capital One Cyber's continued stability and success. Living in the Risk organization within Cyber, team leads partner with teams across Cyber to identify opportunities in the data strategy posture in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded.

Cyber data strategy professionals are highly motivated with excellent project management and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across Cyber and the lines of business, and are given the opportunity to work with executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company.

Our group is driving enhancements in data strategy across Cyber. You will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in improving the experience for internal users as they safeguard their sensitive data. The ideal candidate is resourceful, analytical, self-motivated, and has great attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

This role supports Cyber's horizontal program governance for Enterprise Data Strategy (EDS) for Cyber's operating divisions. Specifically, this role will:
  • Drive development of Cyber's data strategy, tied to overall Enterprise Data Strategy
  • Spearhead strategic data initiatives and associated communication and awareness to Cyber leadership
  • Drive Cyber strategy for safeguarding sensitive data, properly marking data, remediating sensitive data, and ensuring proper tokenization of data
  • Drive Enterprise platform adoption across Cyber
  • Identify data strategy controls and monitoring needed for Cyber
  • Stay up to date on material developments in regulatory privacy policies
  • Develop an effective engagement model between Cyber and the Enterprise Data Strategy forums to ensure consistency with the Enterprise
  • Proactively identify process improvements that will improve risk management practices
  • Support innovation through process improvements and automation
  • Support or lead ad hoc projects related to Cyber's Data Strategy


Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 7 years of Project Management experience
  • At least 3 years of Risk Management experience
  • At least 3 years of experience with internal business clients


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in a risk organization
  • 7+ years of Technology experience
  • 1+ years of Jira and Confluence experience
