Manager, Business Analysis, Community Finance

The Manager will be responsible for conducting analysis for the group. In addition, he or she will also be responsible for overseeing (in collaboration with Finance and Accounting) the financial analysis, forecasting and reporting function for Community Finance (CF). Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

Budgeting and Forecasting Business Performance
  • Reviewing investment benefit schedules across the lifecycle and coordinating primarily with syndicators on changes and ensure documentation
  • Analyzing accounting and finance issues related to the business
  • Preparing annual forecast assumptions for CF, with tracking mechanism to compare each deal to forecast assumptions and each monthly / annual actuals to projection
  • Preparing profitability analyses on the portfolio and any new transaction types
  • Monitoring expenses of CF, including one-time expenses for technology and new initiatives


Analytics Support Across Community Finance
  • Analysis of new business lines and products for Community FInance
  • Insights and recommendations to improve the financial performance of the entire portfolio
  • Analysis of the financial impact of purchases of portfolios or disposition of a portion of the portfolio via secondary sales, including transaction pricing models, impact to P&L and impact on portfolio risk


Collaboration with Finance & Accounting / Reporting
  • Serving as liaison to finance and accounting, responsible for review of annual forecast, monthly actuals and updating outlook forecasts
  • Collaborating with Finance to prepare and review of multi-year business plan projections
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports for senior management


Modeling
  • Creating and maintaining various models and processes to support all of CF's business analytical needs including staffing and efficiency


The Successful Candidate Will Have
  • Ability to work collaboratively with, and influence internal and external partners
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent financial modeling skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to perform functions with limited supervision and under tight time constraints


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 6 years of business analyst experience or at least 6 years of finance experience or at least 6 years of accounting experience or any combination


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in lending and investing businesses
  • Ability to review and analyze transaction pricing
  • MBA or CFA
  • Bachelor's Degree in any quantitative field (ex: business, math, economics, finance, statistics, science, engineering)
