Overview Function (Scope and Main Purpose of Job) The Hall Usher will be responsible for assisting in the execution of ballroom events and concerts. Responsibilities Core Service Standards CLEAN: Must make the property shine and look impeccable while maintaining a neat CLEAN and crisp personal appearance SAFE: Must make guests feel SAFE and comfortable through creating a worry free, carefree experience. Fast: Provide FAST and efficient service with accuracy. Meet service time requirements and anticipate guest needs. FRIENDLY: Greet each guest with FRIENDLY welcomes, making eye contact and smiling. Use HEART steps to ease guest concerns. Say thank you to departing guests. FUN: Work passionately as a team to create a FUN experience both for everyone who works and plays here Specific Responsibilities and Duties Assist customers traverse the Hall during events. Help facilitate and oversee guest services within entertainment venue. Set-up and maintain an impeccable physical standard of the venue and entertainment work space. Direct guests to points of interest on property when requested. Working Conditions 24/7 high energy casino with over 300,000 sq. ft of gaming and entertainment space and approximately 3000 employees Exposed to alcohol, cigarette and cigar smoke, bright lights, and loud noises. You will work in an environment where smoking is allowed. Qualifications Job Requirements (skills, knowledge, and abilities) Deliver excellent customer service in a fast paced, exciting, loud environment. Outgoing, friendly, personable, with a positive attitude and a team player mentality. Can perform assigned duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment, while maintaining composure during high profile events. Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas Must be detail-oriented Must be able to multi-task Educational Requirements A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. Six (6) months to one (1) year experience in beverage service in a high-volume, fast-paced environment; nightclub experience preferred. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid non-gaming license as determined by the Maryland State Lottery and Gaming Commission for the position and Alcohol Beverage Control card. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time Must be able to distinguish between colors Must be able to walk up and down stairs several times a day
