Location: Jessup, MD Salary: 60 Description: Our client is currently seeking a Construction Quality Control Manager Job Summary Our client is currently searching for a Quality Control Manager to work primarily in our Annapolis Junction, MD office. Youre a solutions-oriented, hands-on leader who is willing to listen and collaborate with your team. You are customer focused and have led and managed construction quality programs. You will ensure the project is built within contract document specifications, owner requirements, and comply with local, state, and federal building codes. In addition, you will coordinate with other trades, process daily reports of project progress, and adhere to all guidelines issued by the owner. Your responsibilities: - Create, update, and maintain the project logs and all other project-specific quality control reports. - Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up meetings. - Communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments, outside vendors, and contractors. - Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications by direct review and by leveraging the knowledge and experience of others in the project team when necessary. - Confer with management and other departments to define client requirements and expectations. - Chair and document weekly QC meetings with the superintendent and provide written minutes as described in project-specific contract documents. - Schedule inspection and testing with coordination between operations, consultants, material laboratories, and Client. Document testing procedures, methodologies, or criteria. - Create and implement inspection and testing criteria or procedures. - Throughout the project duration, direct product testing activities and tracking deficiencies, and test results. - Oversee workers, including supervisors, inspectors, or laboratory workers engaged in testing activities. - Inspect and approve materials to be used per contract drawings and specifications. - Maintain written daily QC reports, and supplement inspection records with photographs if allowable. - Verify and document that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal. - Conduct pre-construction meetings with new and existing subcontractors. - Coordinate and document the testing and commissioning of building systems. - Confer with management and other departments to define client requirements and expectations. Maintains relationships with owners, clients, subcontractors, design partners, and stakeholders to support project partnering and issue resolution. - Supports Site Safety to ensure that projects are completed per established safety procedures, requirements, and goals. - Issue violation notices and stop-work orders, conferring with owners, violators, and authorities to explain regulations and recommend rectifications. - Prepare and review quality control plan to determine their adequacy. Minimum Requirements - Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or other relevant discipline - At least 5 years of quality control experience in the construction industry - Familiar with the US Government Federal Acquisition Regulations - Advanced knowledge of Quality Control techniques and practices - Good communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, and ability to prioritize, organize and manage time - Skill in the use of computers and computer applications and software - Due to the nature of the work, must be a US citizen - Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance at a later date during employment Preferred Qualififcations - Active security clearance - USACE Construction Quality Management certification - Prior experience with US Government and international military projects Contact:kzywalewski@judge.com This job and many more are available through The Judge Group.
