The cardiac sonographer assists with performing different modalities of cardiac ultrasound imaging exams for inpatients and outpatients. Responsibilities include performing echocardiograms, stress echoes , and intra-operative echocardiograms. They assist the cardiologist with standard transesophageal echocardiograms, and intra-operative transesophageal echocardiograms performed in the cath lab for structural heart cases. The knowledge to discern and effectively report critical findings is required. Other responsibilities include typing preliminary reports, TEE probe cleaning, and other duties as delegated. Must have efficient computer skills. Must be able to communicate effectively. Pay & Benefits: In addition to salary, the benefit package includes paid major holidays, vacation/sick time, health & dental insurance, and 401(k) Degree or Certificate in Echocardiography or Degree in Non-Invasive Technology required.One year of Hospital-based Echocardiography experience required.One year of Intra-operative/Structural Heart Echo & TEE assistance experience preferred.One year of 3D and Strain Imaging knowledge preferred.Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ADRMS required.American Heart Association BLS Certification. Demonstrates knowledge of the approved clinical protocols for each type of cardiovascular ultrasound examination performed as listed: Echocardiogram, Stress Echocardiogram-pharmacologic and exercise, Transesophageal echo.Maintains cleanliness and neatness of equipment and work area.Reviews the patient's clinical history fully to identify the purpose of the examination and select appropriate protocol.Consistently processes exams on EMR and other programs according to department protocol.Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of ultrasound physics, instrumentation, tissue characteristics, and measurements of blood flow, including the biological effects of ultrasound.Recognizes normal and abnormal cardiovascular structure, function, and hemodynamics.
