As a Communications Director for Yes. Every. Kid., you can lead in concept and execution of fully integrated internal and external communication strategies for one of the fastest paced, key organizations in Stand Together Community, a philanthropic community tackling some of the biggest challenges of our times.Every day you will collaborate with expert partners within our community to bring to life dynamic earned media, thought leadership and advocacy plans that advance our short and long terms goals to connect, cultivate and celebrate education solutions that empower and encourage the unique creativity, curiosity, and talent of every learner. You will build and advance plans that inspire think, feel, and believe engagement across a range of stakeholdersfamilies, educators, social entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and policy leaders, to inspire diverse, innovative, inclusive, and transformation education solutions to develop our next generation of leaders, today.Your Responsibilities IncludeWork with cross-functional media team to develop and drive a communications and media placement strategies from conception to implementation for specific issue areasCreate powerful messages, storylines, and public relations campaigns that build awareness for our brand, tailoring plans and messaging to desired stakeholder outcomes from legislation to advocacy and grassroots audiencesDetermine KPIs, ensuring share of voice and positive sentiment growth; monitor and calibrate based on the overall effectiveness and results of these programsCollaborate with integrated marketing communication partners in executing strategy, which includes digital, research, events, and partnershipsPrepare principals for media interviews to help ensure key messages are consistently conveyedCultivate relationships with key media outlets and reporters, to ensure all communications reach national, state, and local news outletsLeverage surrogate and influencer strategies to elevate our individualized learning narrativeResponsible for reputation management whether thats proactive, reactive or risk mitigation to sustain long term credibility and influence of Yes. Every. Kid in the K-12 communityKnowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization7-18 in communications, strategic media relations, public relations, and preferably a grassroots, advocacy, or legislative communications capacity. Agency experience is valued.Experience in education is preferredMust be a strategic thinker with experience conceiving, developing, and executing proactive results driven communication plans; comfortable in an agile, high growth environment where ideas and autonomy are criticalDemonstrated strength in building, managing, and motivating high-performance teams; can work across capabilities or functions, while directly and indirectly influencing high value outcomesAbility to build strong collaborative relationships with a diverse range of internal and external partnersExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentations and creation of simple messages that express complex strategies Self-actualizing, willing to take and share constructive feedback and embrace a fast-paced experiential environmentAble and willing to influence at all levels of the organizationProven ability to think ahead, anticipate around corners, problem solve, and take initiativeExperienced setting and managing against deadlines, with an eye to leading both strategy and operational processes and plans across multi-dimensional programs and eventsEvidence of ability to delivery qualitative and quantitative research to drive good economic decision-makingStrong analytical skill set, capable of analyzing and reacting to results-oriented data and setting high value KPIs that measure strategy and campaign effectivenessExcellent persuasive writing, editing and verbal communications skills, including presentation skillsAbout UsStand Together helps social entrepreneurs supercharge their efforts to help people improve their lives.
