GENERAL SUMMARYThe Vice President, Sales & Development - Historic Hotels, is responsible for the growth of members globally in Historic Hotels WorldwideA' (R) and within the USA in Historic Hotels of America, from targeted strategic development as defined within annual goals, for growing group sales to historic hotels, and for growing profitability from member hotels through sales showcases, tradeshows, and client events. The Vice President, Sales and Development - Historic Hotels will also be responsible for development of a comprehensive strategy, and execution of that strategy, for growth of historic hotels members from targeted segments, such as management companies, real estate investment trusts, ownership groups, chains, brands, and independent hotels collections. The Vice President, Sales and Development - Historic Hotels is responsible for driving the growth of the HE brand within both Historic Hotels of America and Historic Hotels Worldwide.ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPThe Vice President, Sales & Development - Historic Hotels, reports to the Executive Vice President, Historic Hotels of America and Historic Hotels Worldwide. The Vice President, Sales & Development - Historic Hotels, supports the larger organization by participating in strategic planning and marketing for development in the USA for Historic Hotels of America and globally for Historic Hotels Worldwide.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESA. Provide regional, industry and market analysis in support of strategic development within the USA for Historic Hotels of America and globally for Historic Hotels Worldwide.B. Conduct ongoing solicitation of historic hotels and hotel groups with potential for membership in either Historic Hotels of America or Historic Hotels WorldwideC. Educate hoteliers, suppliers, and other important influencers in support of advancing Historic Hotels of America membership development and Historic Hotels Worldwide membership developmentD. Provide regular reporting on all efforts toward development to Executive Vice President, Historic Hotels of America and Historic Hotels WorldwideE. Document in CRM all solicitation efforts and development activities in accordance with company policies and proceduresF. Provide support, as needed, to internal team to increase membership of historic hotels from existing customers, such as management companies, real estate investment trusts, ownership groups, chains, brands, and collections.G. Participate in industry events and organizations which offer positive exposure to the company along with potential new relationships and clients.H. Provide guidance and support on transitioning newly added historic hotels into the operations phases of membershipI. Provide forecasts and budgeting as requested by EVP, Historic Hotels of America and Historic Hotels Worldwide.J. Develop the annual Historic Hotels of America global Sales Plan and related budget recommendations to grow group business for member hotels from the Preservation Vertical Market while prospecting for new clients to generate group business leads for member hotelsK. Lead the Meetings & Events team in planning and executing Historic Hotels Sales Showcases, tradeshows and client events as well as representing Historic Hotels of America and Historic Hotels Worldwide at Historic Hotels showcases, tradeshows and client events.QUALIFICATIONS Degree in business (BB/BS/BA) with marketing, franchise development, or hotel industry experience a plus. 15+ years of travel industry related sales and marketing experience required. 10+ years of combined experience with historic hotels, hotels located within historic, UNESCO, or heritage areas, hotels resulting from adaptive reuse conversions, or hotel franchise brands focused on independent historic hotels. A proven track record for opening doors, developing customer relationships, and strategic results-oriented programs. Fluency in spoken and written English Strong experience of managing budgets and P&L requirements. Outstanding communications and persuasion skills, both written and verbal, required. Competency in the use of business software for communications and presentations Strong analytical and multi-dimensional strategic-thinking skills required. Strong knowledge of electronic distribution channels including the internet. Awareness of industry trends in both the chain and independent hotel segments High energy and high commitment required. Strong teamwork and team-building skills required. Experience of global markets, historic preservation, cultural and heritage travel, cultural awareness and "international thinking"A' Valid passport with flexibility to travel frequently both domestically and internationallyREQUIRED TRAINING1.
